Thursday Night's Class Breakdown

First Hour -

A very long explanation of Situated Cognition. A theory with which I am still unfamiliar. We discussed Ausubel's Meaningful Reception Learning and I tried, I really did, but I'm still floundering. Mostly because I must be inherently stupid. I think it would be beneficial to study a bit together on Saturday.

Mid-term

- We’ll be given a couple scenarios (web pages perhaps). We’ll then have time to analyze one scenario from different points of view (behaviorism, cognitive information processing, meaningful learning, schema theory).

- We choose which learning theories apply to each scenario.

- We can expect a similar format for the final.

- After the test, we'll give feeback detailing how effective we felt the test was.

Great News - It's Open Book! Woo hoo!!

Bad News - It's what P.R. calls a "middle to long essay"

Basically, with our books nicely highligted and a review of the four learning theories we've covered thus far, I think we'll be fine. ("I'm fine-d.")
